Cadence Design Systems is a global public software company traded on NASDAQ (CDNS), a world leader in development of software tools, methodologies and services for production of chips for the semiconductor industry.

Cadence is an international software company that has been operating since 1987 in the EDA industry, in the field of electronic design automation of complex electronic systems. The company has approximately 5,000 employees in 63 countries. In April 2005, Cadence Design Systems Inc. acquired the Israeli software company Verisity, thereby expanding its fields of expertise also to the development of sophisticated software tools for the area of verification, until then supplied to the international EDA market almost exclusively by Verisity. Currently, by virtue of its acquisition of Verisity, Cadence has a leading edge also in this field. Cadence's activity in Israel is carried out at two sites: the Development Center located in Park Afek in Rosh Ha'Ayin (formerly Verisity), and the marketing and sales division in the Herzliya Pituach industrial zone. The revenue of Cadence Design Systems Inc. in 2005 totaled $1.3 billion. Its head offices are located in Silicon Valley, San Jose, California.
